Spirit FM’s annual Toy Appeal was a huge success again with what they believe to be the biggest number of toys ever collected. They delivered to social services in Bognor, Horsham and Worthing, and also supplied toys to St. Richards Hospital, Chestnut Tree House, Sussex Snowdrop Trust, and Guildcare in Worthing.

Three Barnham schoolgirls also helped raise nearly 15 hundred pounds to spend on toys for the appeal too!

Guild Care in Worthing told us: “We are so grateful to the public for their generosity and we know they will bring so much happiness to the children and young people who use our services as well as lightening the load for their families and carers this Christmas.”

Jo Complin from the Sussex Community NHS Foundation Trust: “I just wanted to email to thank you so much for the fantastic gifts that arrived in our office today!

I am a Social Worker who works with children looked after by West Sussex and all of my team were thrilled with the fantastic selection of toys sent by the Spirit of Christmas – I work with children with an age range from five months to seventeen years old – and was able to find a gift that will suit each one of my children, boys and girls!

Thanks once again to you, and to everyone who took the time to donate to the appeal – the gifts will definitely be appreciated!”

And another from Bognor Social Services:

“!I have just returned to the office and cannot believe my eyes! I am absolutely blown away by the generosity shown. Oh my goodness! On behalf of the Health Visiting team thank you all so so so very much, these gifts will be divided up and given out to our most vulnerable families and will make a massive difference to them this Christmas. Just incredible. I am fighting back tears as I write this!

A very Happy Christmas to you all, it is a truly wonderful thing you have all done in organising this.”
