The safety of the hyenas at Longleat Safari Park, and the zoo’s guests, is no laughing matter. That’s why the UK’s number one safari park asked Knight Fencing to install zoo fencing for its new hyena enclosure this summer.
Zoo fencing projects aren’t what you’d call our bread and butter – that’ll be school fencing, commercial fencing, industrial fencing, etc. – but when they come in, we have the expertise and experience to do a great job.
With the hyenas eagerly awaiting their new home at the safari park, our expert installation team quickly got busy putting up the animal enclosure fence panels.
New hyena enclosure gets two-tier zoo fencing plus Growtivation brushwood screening
The zoo fencing for the new enclosure comprises super-strong and secure three-metre-high galvanised chain-link perimeter fencing. This features galvanised cranked tops with chain-link overhang and machined round timber posts. Inside this outer barrier, we erected high-quality Patura electric fencing. We also installed top-of-the-range Growtivation brushwood heather screens in the enclosure.
Our team were kept on their toes by a pack of inquisitive Longleat wolves that turned up every day to see what was going on. And thanks to the wolves (and our commitment to high standards and first-rate working practices), this zoo fencing job was completed on budget and to schedule.
