Closeboard Fencing for Highwood’s Rowlands Castle Road Development
The start of 2026 was a busy one for the Knight Fencing team. Following our move to new headquarters in Selsey, we hit the ground running with several large-scale projects, including this fencing installation at Rowlands Castle Road in Hampshire for Highwood Group. Highwood has since released drone footage of the development, which you can watch above, and it is good to see our work in place as the site takes shape.
The brief: build-on-site closeboard for a live development
For this live development site, the brief called for a solid, practical perimeter that offered both security and a professional finish. We supplied and installed:
- Approximately 90 linear metres of timber closeboard fencing
- 1950mm height for privacy and site security
- Build-on-site construction, so the fence follows the natural contours of the land
- Matching timber gates
Closeboard remains a top choice for new housing developments because of its strength, longevity and the premium look it gives a finished plot. Building it on site rather than from panels lets the fence line step and rake cleanly with the ground, which matters on a sloping site.
Working on a live site
Working on a live construction site requires coordination and reliability. Our installation crews are trained to operate in busy environments and hold the health and safety certifications that national developers expect, so every metre of fencing went in to programme without disrupting the wider build.
Highwood is delivering the development in partnership with Abri, with new homes under construction alongside finished properties. Our work on the site has continued beyond the original closeboard run, with further fencing and gate works delivered across the development as it has progressed.
Seeing it from above
Boundary fencing is one of the first things installed on a plot and one of the last things a new resident notices. From above it is easy to see how much of a new neighbourhood it defines. It is always rewarding to see our work as part of the wider scheme, and we would like to thank Highwood Group for the continued opportunity to work together.
